There’s one place Al will always call home: Prentiss, Mississippi, and he’s taking time this summer to give back to that community once again.
Big Al will hold the 10th Annual Al Jefferson Youth Basketball Camp at Prentiss High School from Monday, July 23 – Wednesday, July 25. The camp is FREE to kids ages 6-18 and all attendees will receive 2.5 hours of fundamental basketball skills instruction, a camp T-shirt, a basketball and other gear from Big Al.
Al’s goal, as always, is to give back to his community and use sports, and basketball in particular, to encourage young boys and girls to maintain a positive outlook on life.
The camp will be split up into four sessions, based on age group and gender. On Monday, July 23, the camp will begin with a morning session for youth and junior high girls ages 6-12. The afternoon session that same day will be dedicated to youth and junior high boys ages 6-12. On Tuesday, July 24, High School girls ages 12-18 will get a special session dedicated to them and finally, on Wednesday, July 25, the High School boys ages 12-18 will close out the camp.
The camp is free to all comers, but space is limited on a first come, first served basis.
Registration for each day begins at 8 a.m. and ends when the session begins at 9 a.m., with an exception for youth and junior high boys, whose registration begins at 12 p.m. on Monday and ends at 1 p.m. when their session begins. Registration can be completed at Prentiss High School, 2429 Mississippi Ave in Prentiss.
All campers are required to have a completed and signed parental release form (below) before participating in any camp activities. Campers need to bring these to registration the morning of the camp or parents can fill one out at registration.
