For Al Jefferson, the journey from Prentiss, Mississippi to the NBA was one paved by hard work and opportunities taken, not given.

From a basket made out of his grandfather’s foot basket to earning the respect of older siblings and family members to get the chance to play the game at their level, Al carved his own path to becoming the rare NBA draft pick to come straight out of high school and stick in the league.
